The Past - Our History
First Baptist Academy, a ministry of Houston’s First Baptist Church, was first established in 1970 by James Moody and Marcene Adams. The school served the families of Northwest Houston by providing a safe environment and challenging education. In 1980, the school became a ministry of HFBC and continued to meet the spiritual and educational needs of its students. In 1998, HFBC joined with other local churches in establishing an area high school, and the lower school and middle school grades were moved to a beautiful new campus at the church.
The Present - Our Education
Following 35 years of serving students, FBA continues to equip students to rise to their fullest potential. The faculty and staff of FBA are fully committed to meeting the educational, spiritual, social, and emotional needs of our students. With a firm foundation on the Word of God, our students are challenged to examine the world around them using skills in creative and critical thinking. Strong classroom instruction, hands-on learning experiences, and off-campus extended learning trips provide students with a solid, insightful and exciting educational experience.
The Future - Our Mission
First Baptist Academy, a ministry of Houston's First Baptist Church, remains dedicated to fulfilling its mission to glorify God (Psalm 86:8), be a witness for Jesus Christ to the world (Matthew 28:19), and equip students (II Timothy 3:16-17) by teaching about God's world in the light of God's Word within a challenging college-preparatory curriculum.
